Preparation for Orientation
Upon acceptance of your offer and confirmation in the class, you will primarily be in contact with the Office of Student Well-Being and Success to fulfill the criteria needed for orientation and the start of classes.
Complete details for new learners can be found on their website, including vacation requests, certificates of conduct, enrollment fees, and registration.
Letters of Enrollment are issued by the Office of Learner Well-Being and Success (lws@mun.ca) and only after all conditions for acceptance have been satisfied and the student has registered for courses. If you have not fulfilled the acceptance conditions (for example, proof of a recent bachelor’s degree completion), the registration system has been programmed to prevent you from registering for Medicine classes.
Registration for medical students is controlled by the Registrar and opens on June 1; as a result, you cannot obtain a Letter of Enrollment before this date.
Transfer students are generally not considered. Any student seeking a transfer must be currently attending a Canadian medical school with a good record of both academic and professional conduct. Transfers are only considered when there is space in the class, and such situations are highly unusual. The undergraduate medicine program manages transfers; please contact their office (ugmesecretary@mun.ca) for more details.
