Policy and Procedures at Memorial

The policy and procedures documents stored in the central repository on this site constitute the only official version of non-academic, university-wide, policies and procedures for Memorial University. Other policies can be found in the University Calendars (Marine Institute, St. John’s Campus and Grenfell Campus), on the Board of Regents webpage, or in various collective agreements.

Please note that the Policies state the University’s position on matters that have broad University-wide application and impact. These policies and their related procedures exist to protect both you and the University. Policies set an expectation of behaviour and, as such, members of the University have an obligation to comply with University policy. Their related procedures provide the "how to" on carrying out those expectations.

The policy office, within the Office of the Board of Regents administers the processes in the Policy and Procedure Frameworks and maintains the University Policy Collection and associated records. The Frameworks that govern the development, approval, and administration of non-academic policies and procedures are described under the Policy and Procedures Frameworks. These offers a quick reference guide and resources to help navigate through the development process. The policy office is here to assist during any stage of these Frameworks including conducting initial research, reviewing policy drafts and documents, overseeing policy drafting, supporting the required consultation process, etc. Feel free to contact us.
