2026 Interim Accreditation Review

This year, 2026, marks four years since our last formal Accreditation Site Visit survey. The process of undergraduate accreditation follows an eight-year cycle. Canadian MD programs typically undergo an Interim Accreditation Review (IAR) at approximately the halfway point between full accreditation surveys. The IAR is an important component within the accreditation process that will allow us to:

• detect emerging problems with standards
• identify critical issues requiring more immediate action
• increase local accreditation expertise
• develop a culture of continuous quality improvement
