To ensure your application is complete, please ensure that you are aware of the actions you need to take in addition to completing the online application.

You must submit unofficial transcripts, including those where you obtained transfer credit (through either another post-secondary institution, or AP, IB, or other program prior to university/college.

There is no minimum MCAT score to apply, however, applicants with scores lower than 495 are unlikely to be sufficient competitively to advance.

Scores older than 5 years from the deadline date are expired and not accepted.

The Admissions and Interview Committees reviews all valid writings of the MCAT and considers score improvements; do not select sub-scores from individual sections of different exams to maximize the entire score.

The AAMC DOES NOT automatically release MCAT scores to Canadian schools unless directed by the applicant. You must log in to your AAMC account each year to release your score(s) to the schools to which you are applying by following the directions below.

MCAT Directions

  1. Log in to your AAMC account.
  2. Under the My Reports tab, click “Send Scores Electronically”.
  3. Select the institutions to which you are applying to release your score(s). For Memorial University, select “Memorial University of Newfoundland Faculty of Medicine” as indicated below.

You must release your Casper score in the same way via your Acuity Insights account; scores are not sent automatically to the Admissions Office.

Scores are retrieved in bulk from Acuity Insights and matched to your application – be sure that your AAMC is used as your Casper exam identifier and that your birth date is entered correctly on your application.

The deadline for submitting references is the same date as the application deadline. When a reference is submitted on your behalf, you will receive a confirmation email. You are encouraged to complete the section of your application that requests references early to ensure your referees have a reasonable amount of time to fulfill your request. Please check your application status daily leading up to the deadline to ensure all components of your application are completed.

If a referee is not responding in a timely manner to your request, it is highly recommended that you select a new one to avoid the closure of your application. You can do this through your student account by cancelling the reference request that was sent on your behalf; the link to this referee will now be inactive, and you can name a new referee who will be sent a new link.
