Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME)

The Faculty of Medicine Doctor of Medicine (MD) program provides a comprehensive and integrated medical education experience. Undergraduate Medical Education at Memorial University includes a wide range of teaching methodologies and takes advantage of small group teaching opportunities to facilitate a more tailored and personalized learning environment.

The MD program provides clinical learning experiences in community and rural settings and facilitates learning through patient contact in the early stages of medical education.

Memorial University‘s MD program accepts 80 learners once per year with instruction beginning  late August.

The to the MD program application process unfolds over one full calendar year. Applications are due in September of each year for admission into the MD program for August of the following year.

Once an applicant is accepted into the MD program, the Undergraduate Medical Education office provides administrative services and coordinates educational activities throughout the MD program to support both faculty and learners.

The Office of Learner Well-Being and Success provides supports to learners in the MD program.
