Transcript Requirements

Applicants must submit unofficial transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended, including but not limited to colleges and universities, institutions attended on exchange, study abroad institutions, institutions attended on a letter of permission or as a visiting student, etc. It is not sufficient for our purposes for the courses/grades or credit to appear as transfer credits on your home institution's transcript. These transcripts can be obtained through your student account or the Registrar of your institution if they were submitted for transfer credit in the past.

Applicants who have completed Advanced Placement courses and received credit from a post-secondary institution must submit the orignal AP transcript for these course(s) directly from College Board

Applicants who have completed International Baccalaureate courses and received credit from a post-secondary institution must submit the original IB transcript directly from International Baccalaureate

Applicants applying to the Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) pool must submit their high school transcripts as part of the residency criteria. Please see the Department of Education website for more information.

Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions, excluding IB and AP transcripts, are required for applicants selected for interview and directions on submitting those are included with the interview invitation.

Applicants who have degrees awarded from post-secondary institutions (outside of North America) must submit a credential evaluation assessing their degree, in addition to the unofficial transcript from their degree-granting institution. There are several agencies in Canada that offer this service; most commonly, applicants avail of WES, World Education Services. If you utilize WES, the required report is Course-by-Course; Basic and ICAP formats are both accepted. For other services, like the International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES), we require the Comprehensive report.

Please note that credential evaluations can take up to 8 weeks or longer once all your documents have been submitted. If you require a credential evaluation with your application, you should request it as soon as possible. The deadline to submit a credential evaluation is the same as the application deadline in any given year.

If your primary university or college is in North America and you complete ONE exchange semester outside of this, you do not need to submit a credential evaluation. If you completed more than one exchange semester, you do need to submit a credential evaluation for any courses transferred to your primary university, regardless of where it geographically located.

Applicants who have completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, Advanced Placement (AP) courses or a General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) and received any credits for courses in either of these programs eligible to be transferred to a post-secondary institution must submit these transcripts as part of the application requirements. Unofficial transcripts are sufficient for this purpose; grades showing on high school transcripts are not.

Transcripts must be retrieved directly from the credit granting institution International BaccalaureateCollege Board, or GCSE. If you no longer have access to your account to obtain a copy of these results, your Registrar will have it if you submitted it for credit towards your degree program.
