Research Interests
Dr. Erica (Samms) Hurley is a Mi’kmaq scholar. She is an Assistant Professor with Memorial University’s Faculty of Nursing with a cross appointment to the School of Arts and Social Science, Humanities, and an affiliate of the Environmental Policy Institute. Dr. Hurley is also founder and Director of WATERR Lab, an Indigenous health Lab, focused on mentorship, bridging gaps between policy, practice and science. Her research focuses on Indigenous health and she completes work on heart, Indigenous research methodologies, the waters and climate action, planetary health, etc.
