Test Anxiety

At Grenfell Campus, we understand that test anxiety can be a significant challenge for some students that can impact their academic performance and overall well-being. However, test anxiety is not classified as a diagnosed disability in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Text Revision (DSM-5-TR). As a result, we are unable to provide academic accommodations solely for this condition. To ensure students receive appropriate accommodations, ACES requires you to meet with a member of our Counselling and Psychological Services (CPS) unit for further assessment.

CPS will work closely with you to better understand your unique needs and determine any accommodations that you require in your courses at Grenfell Campus (this information should be documented on the Certificate of Disability). If decided that test anxiety is your sole challenge, CPS will work with you to develop a personalized plan to address your test anxiety. We believe that every student deserves an equal opportunity to excel academically, and our CPS unit is equipped to offer guidance and strategies to help you navigate test anxiety effectively so that you can focus on achieving your academic aspirations.

If test anxiety is listed in your medical documentation, ACES staff can help set up an appointment with our CPS unit.
