Spring 2026 - Undergraduate important dates

Spring semester extends over a 14-week period beginning in mid-May and ending in mid-August. It is unique in that it offers students the opportunity to register for courses over the full 14-week semester as well as in two seven-week sessions which run concurrently with the 14-week semester. The session in the first half of Spring is known as Intersession and the session in the last half of Spring semester is known as Summer session.

Monday, March 23 Registration begins for eligible students using Student Self-Service. 
Tuesday, March 31 Reserved seating lifted on or after the close of registration. 
Monday, April 27  Waitlisting of courses no longer permitted after the close of registration. 
Tuesday, April 28 Final waitlist email notices are sent to students where seats are available in courses. Notices continue until Wednesday, April 29 at 10 a.m. Students may have less than 36 hours to register for the available course after receiving the email notice from the Registrar's Office.
Wednesday, April 29  All waitlists deactivated as of 2 p.m. 
Monday, May 11  Lectures begin, 14-week spring semester and 6-week intersession courses.
Last day to pay fees for spring semester courses (14-week, intersession and summer session) without incurring the late payment fee.
Monday, May 18* Last day to add intersession courses.*
Last day to drop intersession courses and receive a 100% refund of tuition fees.*
Thursday, May 21 Last day to drop intersession courses and receive a 50% refund of tuition fees. 
Monday, May 25   Last day to add 14-week spring semester courses.
Last day to drop 14-week spring semester courses and receive a 100% refund of tuition fees.
Last day to drop intersession courses and receive a 25% refund of tuition fees. No tuition fees will be refunded for intersession courses dropped after this date.
Monday, June 1  Last day to drop 14-week spring semester courses and receive a 50% refund of tuition fees. 
Monday, June 8  Last day to drop intersession courses without academic prejudice.
Last day to drop 14-week spring semester courses and receive a 25% refund of tuition fees. No tuition fees will be refunded for 14-week spring semester courses dropped after this date. 
Friday, June 19 Lectures end, intersession courses. 
Monday, June 22* Examinations begin, intersession courses.
Semester break begins, 14-week spring semester courses. 
Wednesday, June 24 Examinations end, intersession courses. 
Thursday, June 25 Lectures resume, 14-week spring semester courses. 
Monday, June 29 Lectures begin, summer session.
Final intersession grades available via Student Self-Service by 5 p.m. 
Wednesday, July 1 Memorial/Canada Day holiday. No lectures.
Friday, July 3 Lectures will follow the Wednesday schedule on this day only.
Monday, July 6 Last day to drop 14-week spring semester courses without academic prejudice.
Last day to add summer session courses. 
Last day to drop summer session courses and receive a 100% refund of tuition fees. 
Thursday, July 9 Last day to drop summer session courses and receive a 50% refund of tuition fees. 
Monday, July 13* Last day to drop summer session courses and receive a 25% refund of tuition fees. No tuition fees will be refunded for summer session courses dropped after this date.*
Wednesday, July 15 Deadline to apply to graduate at the fall convocation. Applications received after this date will be processed as time and resources permit. 
Monday, July 27 Last day to drop summer session courses without academic prejudice. 
Friday, August 7 Lectures end, 14-week spring semester. 
Saturday, August 8 Lectures will follow the Friday schedule on this day only for summer session courses. 
Lectures end, 6-week summer session courses. 
Monday, August 10 Examinations begin, 14-week spring semester and summer session courses.
Saturday, August 15 Examinations end, 14-week spring semester and summer session courses. 
Thursday, August 20 Final spring semester and summer session grades released via Student Self-Service by 5 p.m. 

*As May 18, June 22, July 1 and July 13 are holidays for administrative staff, the Office of the Registrar will be closed on those days. Therefore, for courses which cannot be added or dropped via Student Self-Service, course change forms will be processed on the next business day without financial penalty.
