Credentials verification

If you require verification of your graduation or credentials (e.g. degree, diploma or certificate) for submission to a third party, you can request a letter by submitting the Confirmation of Enrolment, Attendance or Credential form using your @mun.ca email to registrar@mun.ca or in person to the Registrar's Office (A 2003).

Graduate students should contact sgs@mun.ca.

Notification of eligibility to graduate is different than confirmation of your credentials.

International students - post-graduate work permit letter

Students requiring advice about the eligibility criteria for a Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) and the process of applying for a PGWP may contact an Immigration Advisor with the Internationalization Office.

International undergraduate students on the St. John's campus requesting verification of credentials for immigration purposes must request a Post Graduate Work Permit to registrar@mun.ca or in person to the Registrar's Office (A 2003).

These letters are normally emailed to undergraduate students once their application to graduate has been assessed and they have been deemed eligible for their degree.

Receipt of a PGWP letter will follow these timelines based on when a student has completed their academic program and all other requirements have been met:

Program completedExpected receipt of letter
December (fall semester) Mid-January
April (winter semester) Mid-May
August (spring semester) Mid-September
Fee and processing time

There is a $15 fee for each letter requested. If you request more than one letter the same day, each additional letter is $2.

Most verification requests are processed within two business days. If extenuating circumstances warrant a priority service, drop by our main counter (A 2003) or call 709 864 8260.

Processing times for PGWP letters differ. See table above for details.

We can email, fax or mail your letter to you or to a third party that you identify on the request. It can also be picked up at the main counter (A 2003) by you or someone you have designated by name in advance.
