Fall Semester Completion
If you will complete your program requirements by the end of the fall semester, the following timeline will apply to you:
Apply to graduate
Application opens Nov. 1, 2020 with a submission deadline of Jan. 3, 2021.
Apply through Memorial Self-Service by submitting an Application to Graduate found under the Graduation and Convocation menu.
Graduation eligibility confirmed
Your application will be reviewed by the Registrar's Office and you will be notified if you have any missing requirements.
Notification of eligibility to graduate letters are normally sent out mid-January and incrementally thereafter. At the same time, your graduation status in Memorial Self-Service will be updated accordingly.
There is no formal ceremony in February. An in-absentia convocation will be held during that month’s regular University Senate meeting. You will be assigned to the upcoming Spring 2021 convocation ceremonies but have the option to postpone attendance until the following Fall 2021 convocation ceremonies.
Your transcript will be updated in late February, after the in-absentia convocation.
Pick up your parchments at the Registrar’s Office for one week following the in-absentia convocation. If you do not pick up your parchment, it will be mailed to you.
Formal convocation ceremony
Don't forget to use Memorial Self-Service to register to attend your convocation. Spring 2020 convocation registration opens in late-February/early-March. Fall 2020 convocation registration opens in late-August.
