Mailing of in-absentia parchments

In-absentia parchments were mailed the week of March 1, 2021. The process was originally delayed on the advice of the provincial Chief Medical Officer of Health. You should receive your parchment in the near future.

Undergraduate and graduate degree parchments are awarded during convocation.
Diploma and certificate parchments are issued immediately following each convocation period.

*There is no formal ceremony in February. Students will graduate during that month’s University Senate meeting.
**Due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, Memorial University is postponing the spring 2021 convocation ceremonies for St. John’s and Corner Brook. However, students who have applied to graduate this spring and have met all the university’s requirements will be awarded their degrees, certificates and diplomas on May 19 and be sent them by mail shortly afterwards.

Parchment pick-up is not available at this time. Please ensure that your permanent address is updated on Memorial Self-Service.

Graduates are normally issued only one copy of their parchment in their lifetime.

Your Memorial transcript reflects each credential that has been awarded to a person along with the date of the award.

If you expect to receive your parchment by mail, check your Personal Information in Memorial Self-Service to ensure that your address and phone number are active and valid. You should update your personal information if necessary. International addresses require a clear and complete physical address and contact phone number.
