Canada Post labour disruption

Due to the Canada Post labour disruption, as of Sept. 25, 2025, the Registrar's Office will be unable to send or receive hardcopy official documents by mail via Canada Post. We highly recommend choosing an alternative delivery method. Read more.

Your Memorial University transcript is the complete and unabridged record of your academic history.

The award of a Memorial University degree, diploma and/or certificate is reflected on your transcript approximately one week following the last session of convocation.

Students and alumni may require official transcripts when applying or transferring courses to other academic institutions and, in some cases, when applying for employment or funding. Transcripts are requested through Memorial Self Service and your e-transcript will be issued via MyCreds™️.

You require a MUN Login to access Memorial Self Service and . If you do not have a MUN Login account, you can create an account through the MUN Login page. If you have difficulties creating your account, please email help@mun.ca.

Request your transcript

Carefully read the instructions below. NOTE: If your academic record is prior to 1980, email registrar@mun.ca for instructions.

Step 1: Enter Issue to information
  • For delivery through Canada Post Standard mail, enter either your full name or the name of the third party to whom you wish to send your transcript (e.g. another university).
  • For all other methods of delivery (electronic or pickup), enter your full name.
Step 2: Pick a Transcript Print date
  • Select the date that you wish to have your transcript printed. There are three options available:
    1. As of Today's Date prints your current transcript;
    2. After Graduation prints once your credential has been awarded and recorded on your academic record; and
    3. After Grades Released prints once all grades for a given semester are recorded on your academic record.

Note: that an incomplete grade is considered recorded.

Step 3: Enter a Mailing Address (hardcopy mailout only)
  • If you are mailing your transcript to yourself or a third party, enter the address.
  • If you are picking up or requesting an electronic transcript, do not fill out the mailing address. For this scenario, your full name should appear in the Issue to field.
Step 4: Select a Delivery Method
  • You can request your official transcript to either be:
    1. An electronic copy uploaded to share or download through MyCreds (e-transcript);
    2. A paper copy printed for pick-up during business hours at the Registrar's Office, A-2003, Arts and Administration building, St. John's campus;
    3. A paper copy printed for delivery through Canada Post Standard mail.

Note: MyCreds™ notifications will go to your @mun.ca email.

Step 5: Submit and Pay for your request
  • There is a fee for official transcript requests.
    • Hardcopy pick-up or mail out requires immediate payment. Payment is through TouchNet. If you wish to receive an e-receipt, ensure to give an email address. Otherwise, you can print a receipt after submission.
    • For e-transcript requests, payment is through MyCreds.

Allow a minimum of two business days for processing.

Use our transcript key for details on what the entries in your transcript mean.

Transcript types

There are three different transcript print dates for you to choose from to decide when your transcript is processed:

  • as of today’s date
  • after grades released (for a specific semester)
  • after (a specific) graduation or convocation

Be careful when selecting your transcript type from the drop down menu as we cannot reprint an incorrect request.

“As of today’s date” will print your current transcript. To view your current transcript before requesting an official copy, generate an unofficial transcript.

“After grades release” for any given semester means your transcript will not be printed until all grades for a given semester has been received and recorded on your academic record. Note that an incomplete grade is considered received and recorded.

“After graduation or convocation” means your transcript will only print once your degree has been awarded and is recorded on your academic record.

Processing time

Transcripts requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a processing time of two business days from date of submission until your transcript is ready to be picked up or sent to Canada Post. Processing times can vary during marks release or convocation. Once we send your transcript to Canada Post we can no longer track your transcript.

If you are having issues submitting a request, email Registration and Enrolment Services. For your security, we cannot accept requests for official transcripts via email, mail or telephone. We do not issue transcripts as fax or as attachments to email messages.

Unofficial transcripts

Unofficial transcripts have changed. You can access your academic record through the Student Hub. Your academic record is not certified and does not have the signature of the Registrar; however, it does provide the same information as an official transcript, plus more.

To generate your academic record, click Academic Record from the left-hand menu in the Student Hub. Select “All Levels” to see your full record or a specific academic record level (undergraduate, graduate, etc), then choose academic record type (unofficial), and then click Submit. Use the tabs across the top to navigate through your record.

Your academic record will display on the screen. Hit the Print button (on the right-hand side) to generate a PDF of your Record. The PDF will include a printed date stamp.
