Declare a Major/Minor
All students should ensure their minor is declared before completion of 60 credit hours in their program.
Program declaration at time of admission
While general admission does not require you to select a program on your application for admission, it is advisable to do so. If admitted, you may change your selection before the start of registration or during your first year (subject to some conditions).
Admission directly from high school, or at any point during your attendance at Memorial University, is available to the Faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences, Science, Engineering and Applied Science, and Business Administration; to the Schools of Music and Human Kinetics and Recreation; to the collaborative Bachelor of Nursing program; and to programs offered at the Grenfell Campus.
Program declaration for current students
Some programs require you to complete a prescribed program of university-level studies or equivalent in order to be eligible to apply for admission. These include those offered by the Faculty of Education, School of Pharmacy, School of Social Work, Marine Institute, and the Faculty of Medicine. The requirements for each program are provided in the related section of the online University Calendar.
Current students may declare the Bachelor of Business Administration and programs offered by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences by emailing email@example.com. Please include your student number and program you would like to declared.
Programs offered by the Faculty of Science may be declared by acquiring the appropriate signatures from the relevant departments and filling out the declaration/change of program form.
