What You’ll Study
In the Theatre program, you won’t just study acting — you’ll live it. From your first semester, you’ll be on stage, rehearsing, performing, and learning the craft from every angle. You’ll gain real performance experience while also discovering what it takes behind the scenes to bring a production to life. And to round it out, you’ll also take courses in the Liberal Arts — giving you fresh perspectives that make your training richer and your understanding of the world deeper.
“At first, I wondered why we had to take English and technical courses, but now I see how valuable they are. English has strengthened my critical thinking and given me the vocabulary to analyze characters and scripts. The tech courses have helped me understand what’s happening behind the scenes and made me a better collaborator. Everything connects — it all builds you into a stronger, more adaptable artist.” Violet, BFA Theatre student

Year 1 – Foundations
- Learn the building blocks of acting: voice, movement, improvisation, and text work.
- Everyone explores technical theatre skills in lighting, sound, props, wardrobe and stage management.
- You’ll study the history of theatre from ancient Greece to modern stages.

Year 2 – Developing Your Craft
- You will tackle scene study, speech, and body work in Acting classes.
- Technical theatre students will move deeper into lighting and audio, props, wardrobe, set building, and stage management.
- Everyone takes part in productions — an introduction to performing on stage or being backstage.
- You’ll take additional courses in English, Art History and Dramatic Literature to give you a rounded knowledge of art and culture
Year 3 – Master Classes & Expanded Roles
- You’ll be in Master Classes with guest directors or in specialized technical subjects.

- You’ll choose additional courses in English so you can follow the areas that interest you.

“Being in this program has also opened up a world of connections — with alumni, industry professionals, and local artists. I’ve worked with CBNuit, independent productions, and Camber Arts, and I’ve gotten to be part of so many creative projects around the island. It’s been such an amazing experience.” George, BFA Theatre student
