Applicant qualifications:
- Students holding a Bachelor of Arts in English
- Students holding any major and six courses in English
- Students with equivalent work or lived experience
- Students with any Bachelor of Arts are encouraged to make inquiries and apply
Program options:
- Part-time – for non-traditional learners or working adults
- One-year major research project
- Two-year thesis option - to allow international students the opportunity to gain working visas on completion.
Minimum admission requirements
- MALA – Bachelor's degree in Literature or related area from a recognized institution, with a minimum CGPA of 3.0; six undergraduate courses in English
- Minimum TOEFL scores are: 580 for the paper-based test; 237 on the computer-based test; or 92 on the Internet-based test. The minimum IELTS score is an overall band score of 7.0. The minimum MUNTEL score is an overall band score of 70.
- One seat per year will be reserved for a student with Indigenous ancestry who meets the minimum criteria for admission. There will be a bursary for an Indigenous student to study full-time for the MALA. Applicants wishing to be considered under this clause shall declare their Indigenous ancestry at the time of application.
