Relational Arts & Health for Children

This eight-week course is designed for educators and health care professionals who work with primary and elementary school-aged children, and who want to incorporate art into their daily practice. It blends theory, practical strategies, and hands-on learning that support children’s developmental growth and well-being.

You’ll learn:

  • Why art is integral to a child’s communication skills, emotional regulation, and a developing sense of self
  • How to talk to a child about artwork created
  • How to discover your own creativity
  • How art aligns with social-emotional learning

Sandra Hewitt-Parsons (RCAT, EXAT, PhD(c)) is a registered art therapist, art education instructor, published author, and the founder of Safe Harbour Expressive Therapies. As one of the first art therapists in her region, Sandra is passionate about supporting mental health in her province.
