Entrance Scholarships & Bursaries
Memorial's Scholarships and Awards Office recently contacted high schools throughout Newfoundland and Labrador reminding them of the early offer process for Entrance Scholarships and to remind them that applications are required for the Memorial University of Newfoundland Alumni Entrance Scholarship and the Dr. Leslie Harris Memorial University Alumni Association Scholarship for 2018/19.
What to know
General Entrance Scholarships will be valued at $2,550.00 (the equivalent of full time study for two semesters' tuition) and $1,275.00 (the equivalent of full time study for one semester's tuition).
Students must have an average of 90% or higher to be eligible for an early scholarship offer and those students who receive an early scholarship offer must maintain a minimum final admission average of 90% (or 33 points for IB students). Students can calculate their average to determine eligibility.
Students must have applied for admission to Memorial University and submit their February mid-term grade report to the Admissions Office by March 1, 2018 (for semesterized students it's March 9) - grade reports can be dropped, mailed, faxed or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Only students who are eligible for scholarship consideration and students applying to Nursing and Fine Arts should submit midterm grade reports.
Eligible students must submit February midterm grade reports only and NOT provide NL high school transcripts.
Students should not submit multiple copies of the grade report.
Students wishing to be considered for the renewable scholarships (Harris and MUN Alumni) must determine their eligibility and if eligible, submit a separate application. The deadline to apply is March 1, 2018.
If there are international students attending your school who will graduate in June 2018 and who meet the early entrance scholarship requirements, please contact Rhonda Byrne at email@example.com or 864-6167.
