In collaboration with the ID PhD Society, we welcome Dr. Michael Murphy (Banting Postdoc Fellow and Buchanan Postdoc Fellow, Department of Political Studies (Queen's University, Canada) - for a talk on February 25 - 2026 - 5pm (room to be confirmed). Title of talk: Quantum-like social theory: an analogical foundation for conceptual analysis.
- CQSCS is organizing a workshop at the Fields Institute, University of Toronto on October 16–17, 2025. The topic will be the Use of Quantum Algorithms/Formalisms in Finance. Everyone is welcome to register for this hybrid event. More information can be found here.
- PHYS 6061 course : "Applications of classical and quantum formalisms in finance and other social sciences” has successfully run in Winter 2025 and is again running this Winter 2026. Open to graduate students.
- Will Hicks, a doctoral candidate in the ID PhD programme became ‘Dr. Hicks’ in April 2024. His thesis was on (quantum) open systems in finance. Will is scholar in residence of CQSCS.
