Undergraduate awards and scholarships
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters and alumni, we grant our students over $200,000 in scholarships, awards and bursaries each year!
In 2023, the process to receive a scholarship, award or bursary is changing. Business students must now apply to be considered. Applications are now closed.
Review available awards, scholarships and bursaries
Students must submit a separate application for each individual scholarship, award or bursary. Be sure to read the criteria carefully. You may apply to any scholarships, awards or bursaries for which you meet the criteria.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
How is financial need determined?
For business students, financial need is self-reported. If a scholarship, award or bursary would help your financial situation, you may consider yourself as being in financial need.
What period of time does the criteria relate to?
The year that covers Spring 2021, Fall 2021 and Winter 2022.
How is scholarship standing determined?
See the University Calendar for the definition of “scholarship standing.”
How do I interpret the “where you are from” criteria?
This criterion (e.g., “a student from Newfoundland and Labrador”) is based on the location of your high school.
Do I have to be a full-time student?
You must have completed 30 credit hours during this period (Spring 2021, Fall 2021 and Winter 2022)
Not all criteria are listed in the application. How will any missing criteria be assessed?
We can asses some criteria through your student profile. This will be considered in addition to the information contained in your application.
I am interested in applying for more than one scholarship. Do I need to complete an application for each individual scholarship?
Yes.
If I am in my final year of my program, am I able to apply?
If you were a student during the Spring 2021, Fall 2021, and Winter 2022 terms, you can apply.
What is the difference between a scholarship, an award and a bursary?
A scholarship is based on academic performance and is awarded to the student with the highest average meeting the conditions of the scholarship. Scholarship standing is required for all scholarships.
A bursary is based primarily on financial need and may be awarded to full-time students who have a minimum GPA of 2.0 (out of a possible 4.0) and meet the other conditions of the bursary.
An award is offered to recognize special achievements or to assist with special projects or travel. Awards may be given to students with a minimum of clear standing as defined by the university and outlined here, and meeting the other conditions of the award.
