Ken Bennett
President, Johnson Inc.

Ken Bennett was appointed as president, Johnson Inc. and Unifund Assurance Company in 2007.
Under his leadership, the company has grown substantially to become a leading Canadian insurance and benefits company, implementing a robust country-wide growth and acquisition strategy. In recent years, Mr. Bennett has lead a large-scale transformation of the business with purpose to ensure the company has market-leading capability for its customers and groups.
Johnson works with a wide range of large groups and associations nationwide and in 2018, the company secured the largest partnership in its history by winning Scotiabank’s national home and auto portfolio under its ScotiaLife Financial brand. Johnson was chosen based on core and unique competencies, talent and culture.
Mr. Bennett’s current focus is on building Johnson’s capability for the future with significant investment and advancement in technology and the business’s overall digital offering, with an overarching goal to better serve customers now and well into the future.
Mr. Bennett has a bachelor of commerce (co-operative) (honours) from Memorial University and holds a chartered professional accountant designation. He has completed RSA Canada’s Executive Development and Harvard & Stanford’s Leading Change and Organizational Renewal programs. In June 2017, he graduated from the Directors Education Program from the Institute of Corporate Directors. He also serves on the boards of RSA Canada, Newfoundland Power and the Health Care Foundation, where he is vice-chair.
Mr. Bennett is active in the community and, together with Johnson, is continuing a long history of giving back to the community where Johnson customers and people live and work.
