Below is a list of all the technologies that have been reviewed. You can use this table to:

Upon review of each tool in this index, metadata has been collected and presented in a consistent format. Additionally, some tools have been rated against our Rubric for Learning Technology Evaluation(available here), which should help with selecting the best tool to help achieve your learning outcomes

Steve Joordens – peerScholar   Peer review and peer assessment platforms, like peerScholar, provide an avenue for students to think critically and communicate with others. They also provide instructors with an opportunity to help students to learn effectively from the feedback process.  
H5PObject CreationH5P is a web application for creating your own interactive learning objects.  
Lecture CaptureVideo HostingLecture Capture is a service provided by CITL that allows for a recording of live lectures for later review by students.
Video HostingVideo HostingCITL's video hosting service allows instructors to upload their created videos and stream it to students through Brightspace. CITL's video hosting service provides instructors with the opportunity to share "desk lectures" or other short tutorial videos with students.  The service ingests your created media, transcodes it for delivery to student, and provides an embed code that allows you to place the video within your Brightspace course.  Each instructor receives 30 GB of storage for their videos.
YouTube*Video HostingYouTube is a cloud-based video hosting platform.
Discussion Forum (Brightspace)Asynchronous CommunicationThe discussion forum in Brightspace allows you and your students to have asynchronous conversations using text.  It is also possible to use short video and audio clips using the video and audio note feature.
Quiz Builder (Brightspace)Assessment PlanningThe Quiz Builder in Brightspace allows you to build questions, question banks, and allows you to determine the effectiveness of your assessments.
Respondus Quiz BuilderAssessment PlanningRespondus is a powerful tool for creating and managing exams.

BlueJeans*Synchronous SessionsBlueJeans is a video conferencing bridging system that can be used for conversations using computers, mobile devices, and room systems.
Screencast-O-MaticScreencastingThis tool captures a digital recording of your computer screen, along with your audio narration and (optionally) a webcam.
Video AssignmentsAssessmentVideo Assignments give you the flexibility to incorporate new types of assessments into your courses, such as real-world simulations, role-play scenarios, debates, peer reviews, and other creative ways to evaluate your students. After an individual completes a video exercise, they submit their recording for personalized coaching and feedback from their instructor and peers.
Assignments (Brightspace)AssessmentThe Assignments tool in Brightspace allows you to provide assessments, collect files, and grade and provide feedback to students.
Course Mail (Brightspace)Asynchronous CommunicationThe course mail in Brightspace provides users with a mail account to send and receive mail from other users in Brightspace. Course mail accounts are internal to Brightspace. Users cannot send emails to or receive emails from external email accounts.
Surveys (Brightspace)Survey ToolThe Survey tool in Brightspace can be used to monitor current course trends, seek student opinions, and assess learner satisfaction.
Qualtrics*Survey ToolQualtrics is an industry-leading survey software solution that is currently used by 6800 schools and 2000 universities worldwide, including several Canadian institutions. Highlights: cloud based service easy to use advanced survey features flexible reporting and analytic capabilities data stored in Canada three-year contract (effective June 2018) Further information about Qualtrics can be found at www.qualtrics.com. Memorial University’s enterprise license agreement with Qualtrics has been reviewed by General Counsel, Information Access and Privacy, IT Security Group and Information Management and Protection and meets the privacy, security and legislative requirements of the University.
Course Content (Brightspace)Content DeliveryThe Content tool is used to post and organize course material in Brightspace. Instructional content you post can include web documents, text documents, images and media files.
Course Resources (Brightspace)Content DeliveryMemorial University Libraries provide instructors with an online reserve system called Course Resources (Reserves) which is accessible through a Brightspace course site or through the libraries webpage. 
MacOS Screen Recording*ScreencastingMacOS Screen Recording allows for basic screen recording which can be used for the purpose of lecture recording.  
Video Note (Brightspace)Video HostingBrightspace Video Note feature allows instructors to record short videos using their webcam or upload videos directly to Brightspace.  No additional software is required to use the webcam recording function.
Zotero*Reference Management ToolsZotero is an open-source reference management software used to manage bibliographic data and related research materials.
CamScanner*Object CreationCamScanner is a mobile application used to scan, save, archive, and upload files.
Pear Deck*Content DeliveryPear Deck is an interactive presentation tool that allows instructors to actively engage students in the learning process. It is an add-on to Google Slides or PowerPoint online slides that allows students to respond to learning moments and receive feedback in real time.
Flipgrid*Content DeliveryFlipgrid is an education-focused platform that allows instructors to create and facilitate video discussions. 
Edpuzzle*Content DeliveryEdpuzzle is an online video editing tool that allows instructors and students to upload their own content or use existing video content from the Edpuzzle library, including videos from YouTube, National Geographic, TED Talks, Khan Academy, Vimeo, and more.

Duet*Video InterfaceDuet is a screen sharing application which turns an iPad or iPhone into an extra display for a Macbook and PC.
Skim*Study Tool  Skim is a free PDF reader and note-taker for OS X.
Adobe Scan*Content DeliveryAdobe Scan is a mobile application used to scan, save, archive and upload files. The app allows users to confidently capture papers and whiteboards with a mobile device and transform documents, forms, whiteboards, receipts and business cards into high-quality Adobe PDFs you can search, annotate, fill, sign and edit.
Slack*Synchronous SessionsSlack is a live chat messenger used by many businesses and universities for communication purposes. Slack offers many conventional instant messaging features, including persistent chat rooms (channels) organized by topic, private groups, and direct messaging.
Mendeley*Reference Management ToolsMendeley is a reference management software and an academic social network.
MindTap*Content DeliveryMindTap is an online platform filled with ready-made content aligned with different textbooks that can be accessed directly from a learning management system or offered as a standalone resource. 
ActivePresenter*ScreencastingActivePresenter is an all-in-one screen recorder and interactive e-learning authoring tool.
Mathpix Snip*Content DeliveryMathpix snip is a tool that helps to digitize handwritten copies. The digitized formula/text can be used in Microsoft Office or LaTeX editors.
Eventbrite*Assessment PlanningEventbrite is a fully customizable event planning platform with intuitive tools that help save time and increase event sales. The platform can accommodate simple as well as large and complex events and provides all the tools users need to get started in no time, including event registration and ticketing, listing design, ticketing, fundraising, promotion, and payments.
Mentimeter*Productivity and Organizational TechnologiesMentimeter is an interactive presentation tool that allows users to engage their audiences in activities in real-time. It can help instructors efficiently get feedback from the entire class.
Google Drive*PortfolioGoogle Drive is a cloud-based storage service that allows you to access and share files across multiple devices, including smartphones, tablets, and computers, and allows its users to work simultaneously with others.    
Miro*Synchronous SessionsMiro is a free online whiteboard platform that allows instructors and their students to collaborate during classes.
Google Sheets*Productivity and Organizational TechnologiesGoogle Sheets is a spreadsheet program offered as part of the Google Docs Editors suite within the Google Drive services.

Read and WriteStudy ToolRead&Write is a literacy support tool that helps users  study, revise, proofread, and increase their understanding. The software supports a variety of learners including but not limited to struggling readers and writers, those with learning disabilities, and English language learners. Read&Write is a useful tool for faculty and staff too. Faculty can access, download and use the software for thier work, research or teaching activities. 
WonderVideo ConferencingWonder is a virtual space/platform for online networking, exhibition, workshops, and social events. Using the platform, groups can get together to create connections in a way that feels natural and energizing. The tool focuses on increasing engagement and interaction in an online event.
Prezi*Content DeliveryPrezi is a cloud-based graphic design tool that creates and shares dynamic designs and data visualizations. Suitable for interactive infographics.
Plickers*Study ToolPlickers is a student response system that allows instructors to collect quick responses through a mobile device by scanning students’ paper-based response cards.
Powtoon*Object CreationPowtoon is a content creation platform that allows users to create animated videos and presentations.
Immersive Reader*Study ToolImmersive Reader is a free OneNote Accessibility tool that can be used to improve reading skills for all age groups.  
Poll Everywhere*Survey ToolPoll Everywhere is an interactive presentation tool that allows users to engage their audiences through live online polling, surveys, Q&As, quizzes, word clouds, and more.
