Personal Profile

Dr. Mary Furey is an associate professor of information systems and general management at the Faculty of Business Administration. Since 1998, Dr. Furey has taught business management, computer science and information systems to graduate and undergraduate students through both face-to-face instruction and web-based delivery. Her work experience since joining the Faculty of Business Administration in 1986 includes delivering professional development seminars and workshops on computer application packages for both public and private sector clients and working as a manager of information technology.

Dr. Furey completed her doctoral studies in 2011 at Strathclyde University, Scotland. Her research focuses on crisis management and decision-making in a virtual environment. Dr. Furey has expertise in evaluating a real case study, and she is currently studying the impact of virtuality on crisis management. She has also presented her research at national and international conferences including ISOneWorld, Hawaii International Conference on Business (HICS Business) and Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC).
