Study your way

Memorial is a multi-campus, comprehensive public university with six campuses and multiple teaching and learning facilities across Newfoundland and Labrador, and abroad. You can complete your undergraduate studies at one of the following campuses, offering a diverse choice of where to study.

You might opt to complete part of your program at our Harlow Campus in Old Harlow, Essex, UK, or with one of our exchange partners around the world. We also offer a number of online programs, as well as 475 online courses, that you can complete from anywhere in Canada and around the world.

Choose your path - certificate, diploma, or degree programs

You can choose between certificate, diploma, or degree programs to start your educational journey. Certificate programs are shorter in duration and typically require 6-10 courses (or one year of full-time study to complete). Diploma programs are more specialized and have a stronger career focus. They typically require 10-20 courses and can be completed in one to two years of full-time study. Bachelor’s degrees typically provide both broad and specialized knowledge and require a minimum of 40 courses, and are typically completed in four to five years of full-time study.

Find the right academic fit

At Memorial, you’ll discover programs designed to match your passions and career goals. You can customize your program and make your studies truly your own. Whether you're midway through your studies or already hold a degree or other credential, Memorial's flexible programs can help you achieve your educational and career goals. With more than 300 program options, Memorial offers endless opportunities to study, learn and grow.

Some of our degree, diploma, and certificate programs are transfer-friendly through general admission, making it easy for students to continue their studies in areas such as the humanities and social sciences, environment and sustainability, science, and business. We also offer a range of second-degree programs, including education, social work, and medicine.

While you can transfer to our competitive-entry programs, such as engineering, pharmacy, human kinetics and recreation, music, and nursing, it is recommended that you review the specific program requirements before applying. You should also keep in mind that you may be required to begin at the start of a competitive-entry program regardless of any transfer credits you receive.

College diploma-to-degree pathways

Memorial has articulation agreements with other institutions to provide pathways to allow students to transfer a block of credits from a specific program to earn a bachelor's degree in a shorter time than traditional university students. These agreements streamline the transfer process, helping students gain advanced standing in their programs at Memorial. In many cases, you can finish your degree up to two years faster, depending on how closely your diploma program aligns with your chosen degree. Students should always check specific program requirements and consult with an academic advisor to ensure their courses are applicable toward their degree. Some pathways include:
