The Peter Kohler Engineering Scholarship
The Peter Kohler Engineering Scholarship (available in Fall semesters)
This scholarship was established by a generous donation from Peter Kohler. The people of Newfoundland and Labrador have supported Mr. Kohler's business well over many years. As a firm believer in the value of higher Engineering education, Mr. Kohler wanted to give back by supporting the province's only Bachelor of Engineering program. This scholarship is valued at $50,000 per student, and will be awarded at $10,000 each year over five years, with renewal dependent on the recipient maintaining the minimum academic requirements for a scholarship and funding remaining available. The scholarship will be awarded annually to a student entering the Memorial University Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science Co-operative Education Program. The recipient must demonstrate high academic ability, with preference going towards students who attended and graduated high school in Newfoundland and Labrador who demonstrate financial need. Recipients must meet the minimum academic requirements for a scholarship as defined by Memorial University of Newfoundland. It will be awarded by the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards on the recommendation of the Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science.
