Personal Profile

Nick Krouglicof has a background in instrumentation and control. His field of research is machine vision with an emphasis on the development of real-time automated inspection systems. He also has a special interest in mechatronics. Mechatronics can be defined as the integration of mechanical, electrical and computer engineering in the design of intelligent systems and products that can not necessarily be developed within the confines of the traditional engineering disciplines. He has also worked extensively on the development of measurement techniques, sensors and devices for studies in biomechanics and sports medicine. During his academic career, he has had the opportunity to consult for a wide range of companies and para-public institutions. Recent collaborative projects include the development of a machine vision-based LCD inspection system for BAE Systems Inc., specialized data acquisition and control systems for the National Research Council of Canada (Institute for Research in Construction) and the development of industrial instrumentation for Intempco Controls Ltd. of Montreal.
