Complementary Studies

The Complementary Studies component has been developed to make students aware of the function and responsibilities of the Professional Engineer in society and the impact that engineering in all its forms has on environmental, economic, social and cultural aspects of our society. This complements the technical expertise and communications skills developed and practised in all components of the program.

In order to be considered for graduation, the student must obtain an overall average of at least 60% in the 21 credit hours in Complementary Studies courses required in the program.

Student Self-Audit

It is the responsibility of all engineering students to ensure that the complementary studies requirements are met prior to graduation.

It is highly recommended that students attempt to complete the self-audit form no later than Academic Term 7 so time remains to register and successfully pass any missing requirement(s). Students are encouraged to submit the self-audit form as soon as the criteria are met.
