Pediatrics Rotation

The pediatrics core rotation is intended to further develop knowledge, skills and attitudes involved in the assessment and management of the pediatric patient. Learning will occur in a variety of settings including hospital inpatient wards, ambulatory clinics as well as the emergency room.
 
The rotation is eight weeks in duration and the experience will include some or all of the following:

  • Four weeks of inpatient experience;
  • A minimum of one week in ambulatory clinics including subspecialty and multidisciplinary clinics;
  • Two weeks in the pediatric emergency room at the Janeway Children’s Hospital;
  • Two weeks on the maternity/newborn ward and attending deliveries with the neonatal resuscitation team.
