Abstract

Fine-grained synchronization of application data among multiple devices is becoming an increasingly important feature in the age of mobile devices. Existing solutions require a stable server component, which might not be available from time to time when some devices go offline. Additionally, round-trip latency to servers located in remote data centers might be prohibitively high in certain cases. We propose to investigate alternative solutions based on peer-to-peer topologies with a mobile-centric point of view.
