Admissions

The deadline to apply for admission in September 2020 has now passed. Applications for September 2021 will be available in early October 2020.

Each September the School admits 40 new students to begin the Entry to Practice Pharm.D program. Priority is given to applicants who are residents of Newfoundland and Labrador . Normally, 35 seats are offered to residents of Newfoundland (NL). Of the 35 seats, one seat is reserved for an eligible applicant of Indigenous descent from NL. The remaining 5 seats are open to non-residents of Newfoundland & Labrador, including international applicants.

The Admissions Committee selects applicants who exhibit strong academic capabilities, demonstrate the qualities and skills necessary to be an effective pharmacist, and display a commitment to a career in pharmacy.

Application

Applications for admission to the Doctor of Pharmacy degree program should be submitted online via the University's Application for Admission/ Readmission which can be accessed in the following ways:

Students who are new to Memorial University: Follow the application instructions provided at www.mun.ca/undergrad/apply/

Current or returning Memorial University students: Use the Admissions menu within Memorial Self-Service (link to https://www5.mun.ca/admit/twbkwbis.P_WWWLogin)

CASPer – applicants are also required to complete two on-line assessments: CASPer test and CASPer Snapshot. The results of these assessment tools play an important part in the admissions process. While there are several test dates from which to choose to do these assessments, we strongly encourage applicants to complete them well in advance of the last possible opportunity. Completion of both CASPer assessment tools are necessary to maintain admission eligibility.

To learn more about CASPer and to practice the test so you are better prepared for the actual test, go to https://takecaser.com/. We strongly encourage applicants to take the practice test. The more familiar you are with the test platform, the better prepared you will be and ideally the better you will perform.

If you require testing accommodations for CASPer, you will need to submit the Accommodations Request Form  signed by you and your qualified professional 3 weeks in advance of your desired test date. More information regarding CASPer accommodations can be found here.

Application Fee
In addition to Memorial University's general application fee, the School of Pharmacy Pharm.D. application fee is $125 for Canadian applicants and $175 for international applicants. Application fees are charged upon submission of the online application.

Tuition
Memorial University offers one of the lowest tuition fees when compared to other pharmacy programs across Canada.
