Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) for Working Professionals
The PharmD for Working Professionals is an innovative and accessible part-time option for practicing pharmacists to earn the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree while working. The program is intended for motivated and self-directed pharmacy professionals keen to achieve the Doctor of Pharmacy credential.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will be prepared with:
- expanded knowledge and skills in pharmacotherapy, leadership, management, and interprofessional collaboration
- applied learning experiences to advance their clinical expertise
- critical thinking and problem-solving skills to enhance patient care
Online: offered in partnership with Memorial's Centre for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) - a leader in online learning
Flexible: program can be completed in three to five years with applied learning activities completed at the workplace
Convenient: only two short visits to campus required, with flexibility where pharmacy practice experiences are completed
Cost Effective: tuition is competitive with other Canadian and U.S. programs
The Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) for Working Professionals requires the completion of 15 courses and will be delivered primarily online offering licensed practicing pharmacists the opportunity to complete their coursework while maintaining their employment. In addition to online coursework, the program includes two on-campus clinical skills courses and two six-week advanced pharmacy practice experiences (APPEs).
Effective Fall 2020, the program can be completed in three, four, or five years. Students are encouraged to follow one of the three curriculum map options listed below or they can discuss their course schedule with an advisor in the Faculty. [NOTE: Students must be cognizant of pre-requisite course requirements and seat availability if not following one of the recommended curriculum map options. ]
