Pharmacy students join high ranks

University varsity athletics handed out its 54th round of annual awards on Tuesday, April 3.

Two students from the School of Pharmacy – Adrienne Penney and Matthew Hamlyn – received honours in volleyball and soccer, respectively.

Ms. Penney was inducted into the Athletic Honor Society, which recognizes those that have made an outstanding contribution to the athletic program at Memorial University. Election to membership in the Athletic Honour Society is the highest athletic award that can be conferred on a student at Memorial. The other inductees were Lauren Windsor (soccer), Dayna Hogan (swimming), Angela Peddle (volleyball), Samantha March (volleyball) and Brittney Dalton (basketball).

Ms. Penney was also awarded the Erin Bursey Memorial Award and the CIS Theresa Quigley Award for outstanding athletics, academics, and community service earlier in February.

Matthew Hamylyn received an NLSA Soccer award.
