ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF SPECIALIST II (BAND 7)

Faculty of Nursing

(One year contractual position)

 

DUTIES

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing overall financial and administrative support to the Senior Administrative Officer of the Faculty of Nursing, including administration of the Faculty’s operating, research, PDTER, and endowment accounts.  Duties include performing a variety of financial administrative services such as reconciling and verifying various accounts on a monthly basis; reviewing travel claims for faculty and staff; advising faculty on research accounts. The incumbent will also be responsible for supporting the undergraduate office through coordinating and supporting eventssupporting satellite site operations as needed including supervision of staffand assisting the undergraduate office as needed. Other related duties, including identifying and recommending on efficiencies and maintaining an internal procedures manual will be required.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (3-5 years) in progressively responsible administrative positions; completion of a Diploma in Business Management combined with additional coursework towards an undergraduate degree in business administration, public administration or a related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Experience overseeing the work of others would be an asset.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, purchasing and accounting procedures, as well as budget preparation.  Strong analytical, communication and coordination skills; the ability to work independently and in a team environment; and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and administrative personnel are required.   Knowledge of university policies and procedures and proficiency in the Banner Administration System (Finance and HR) would be definite assets.  

 

 

SALARY                  $61,099 - $71,679 per annum (Non- Bargaining)
