PROGRAM MANAGER (BAND LEVEL 8)

Memorial Centre for Entrepreneurship (MCE)

(One-Year Contractual Position)

DUTIES

The Program Manager will play a critical role in supporting the centre's mission to promote entrepreneurship and support entrepreneurs at the university The incumbent will be responsible for managing all of the centre’s programs, including an entrepreneurial skills training program, a mentorship program, and programs for entrepreneurial work terms or placements. A core member of the MCE team, the individual will work closely with the Director of the centre to design and deliver programming that inspires, engages, and educates students across the Memorial University campus. Duties include:

  • Coordinating and managing all programs offered by MCE, including the entrepreneurial skills training program, mentorship program, and programs for entrepreneurial work terms or placements;
  • Working closely with the Director to design and implement new programs as needed;
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and external partners;
  • Developing and implementing program evaluation and feedback mechanisms to ensure continuous improvement of the centre's programs;
  • Providing regular reports to the Director on program performance, including metrics such as participation rates, satisfaction rates, and outcomes achieved;
  • Assisting with fundraising and grant applications as needed;
  • Collaborating with other departments and programs within the university to promote entrepreneurship and support the centre's goals;
  • Supervising staff (Student Success Coordinator, Entrepreneurship Training Program Coordinator), as well as student staff, primarily in the area of programs and communications support and assistance;
  • Overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of the competition and programming components of student pitch competitions, including managing participant eligibility, ensuring student preparedness, and providing support throughout preliminary and final rounds; and
  • Performing other related duties as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (minimum 3 years) in program management or a business-oriented role; completion of a bachelor's degree in business, entrepreneurship, or a related field is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills; and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders are essential. The successful candidate will be an entrepreneurial-minded, highly motivated individual with a passion for making a difference. 

 

SALARY                           $64,361 - $87,763 per annum (Management and Professional)
