CARPENTRY APPRENTICE (BAND LEVEL 7)
Department of Facilities Management
(Two One-Year Contractual Positions)
DUTIES
The Carpentry Apprentice will be required to perform apprentice level carpentry tasks in accordance with standard trade practices. Duties include assisting in a variety of carpentry work including building, finishing and repairing cabinets, furniture, shelves, tables, bulletin boards, and partitions; cutting and replacing glass; repairing window frames and sashes; repairing and maintaining doors, frames, checks, and locks, and door closers; performing a variety of general maintenance work; and performing other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Successful candidate must have completed pre-apprenticeship (entry-level) training at a recognized institution toward Journeyperson Certification in the respective trade. The successful candidate must be eligible to enter the Apprenticeship program under the Department of Education (Industrial Training Section). Possession of a valid driver's license and driver's abstract, as issued by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, is required.
SALARY $21.83 - $30.22 per hour based on year of apprenticeship program
In accordance with NAPE 7801 collective agreement
