When students graduate from Memorial with a business degree, they are prepared to compete and succeed anywhere in the world. Just ask business alumni who hold key positions in provincial, national and international organizations who are applying their leadership, knowledge and skills to help create an economically prosperous tomorrow.
The teaching and learning opportunities offered at Memorial take you outside of the classroom, beyond the borders of our province and into a global community of business leaders. At the Faculty of Business Administration, you begin as a student but become a leader.

Why study business at Memorial?
Memorial’s Faculty of Business Administration is a recognized leader in Canadian business education, offering innovative programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. All degree programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). In 2002, Memorial’s St. John’s campus became the first business faculty in Atlantic Canada to earn AACSB International accreditation. This is the highest distinction a business school anywhere in the world can receive.
Students can gain a global perspective through exchange programs at more than 40 worldwide partners. Our Bachelor of Commerce (Co-operative) program has a work term placement rate of 100 per cent. Students also enjoy the benefit of small class sizes, one-on-one interaction with instructors, and modern learning facilities such as the White Trading Lab, a state-of-the-art management facility equipped with Bloomberg terminals.
Stack your business education with our flexible and online certificate in business administration and diploma in business administration. Courses in both programs count towards a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm.) degree. With careful course planning and academic advising, these programs may be completed fully online.
Did you know?
Our B.Comm.(Co-op.) was the first business degree in Canada to be accredited by Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning (CEWIL). Work terms are paid placements, allowing students to earn income while completing their education. We have a 100 per cent placement rate for work terms.
Business students also have many opportunities to use their classroom learning in the real world, such as:
-
The Fund: Memorial’s student-managed investment fund provides a supportive environment to learn from finance professionals and develop career-related skills in investment analysis and communication.
-
Fairlead: the first student-managed social impact fund based at a Canadian university. This program gives students the opportunity to make real investment decisions that drive positive social, cultural and environmental change.
-
Work experience in social enterprise (WESE): Students learn about social enterprise and make meaningful – and paid! – contributions to community through this program that places Memorial students with local organizations on social enterprise-related projects.
