University or college transfer applicant

General admission requirements

Applicants with an academic record at a post-secondary institution are subject to Memorial University's continuance and readmission regulation which requires applicants to be in good academic standing at their previous or current institutions to be eligible for general admission. All applicants are also required to meet the English language requirement.

Admission to competitive-entry programs is limited. A higher admission average and/or supplementary information may be required for admission to these programs.

Uploading unofficial documents

After you submit your application, you will be able to upload unofficial documents to the admissions portal. This is where you should upload the latest transcripts from all post-secondary institutions you have attended. If you have more transcripts to submit than the available upload options, please send the additional transcripts to admiss.docs@mun.ca.

We also encourage you to upload your high school transcript to the admissions portal, as it may be required for an admission decision. Applicants to all nursing programs will be required to submit a high school transcript. Your high school transcript may also be needed for purposes such as demonstrating that you have met the English language requirement or for placement in certain courses.

An early acceptance decision may be possible based on the unofficial documents you upload to the admissions portal as part of your application.

Submitting official documents

Official documents are required for verified acceptance to all programs. Transfer applicants to competitive-entry programs are advised to submit official documents by the program’s document deadline.

In order to be considered official, transcripts must be received directly from the issuing institution or through the institution’s authorized document sending service (such as MyCreds™️). Official transcripts can also be submitted to admiss.docs@mun.ca directly from an official email address listed on the website of the issuing institution. Transcripts sent by post/courier are considered official only when sent directly from the issuing institution. Detailed course outlines may be required for transfer credit evaluation, for the purposes of admission and placement in your program.

Check the admission requirements for Canadian and international curricula to find out how to submit official high school transcripts/certificates.

You are responsible for making sure that all documents required for admission and transfer credit evaluation are provided. The results of your transfer credit evaluation are important for course planning and registration. For this reason, you are advised to apply early and forward the required documents at least two months prior to the start of the semester for which admission is sought.

English translation
Official documents issued in a language other than English or French must be accompanied by a certified English translation.
