MTS Clinic physician focus group
The School of Pharmacy will hold a focus group pertaining to our new Medication Therapy Services (MTS) Clinic – a referral-based service where physicians across the province can avail of the pharmacist’s expertise to optimize patient care by referring their patients with complex medication-related needs to this new, innovative “pharmacist clinic”.
Pharmacists will collaborate with physicians and patients to provide a comprehensive medication therapy assessment after meeting with the patient in a private, non-dispensary, clinic environment, and will provide a summary of recommendations back to the referring physician and follow up with the patient as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes are achieved.
The focus group will be held on October 7, 2015 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the Tiffany Court location of the School of Pharmacy. The purpose is to inform physicians of the clinic services, and most importantly to obtain feedback on the referral form and process as well as expectations regarding the outcome of the patient consultations and medication therapy assessments. Physician engagement will be invaluable to the success of this new patient service and we look forward to partnering with you.
