Employee Engagement Survey
Memorial University is holding an employee engagement survey from November 24 to December 12, 2025, to help better understand the experiences of faculty and staff across the university. This survey is being conducted by TalentMap, a company that specializes in workplace engagement and benchmarking.
On November 24, 2025, TalentMap will send a unique survey link to all permanent and contractual full-time and part-time employees who are in classified positions and who have been at Memorial since the start of the fall semester. This link will be sent via email to employees' university email addresses.
This confidential survey will close on Dec. 12, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.

This survey is an opportunity for faculty and staff to share feedback on their experiences working at Memorial University. TalentMap, a privately held Canadian corporation, will be conducting the survey at Memorial University. TalentMap has over 20 years of experience assisting numerous organizations, including many Canadian post-secondary institutions to measure and manage employee engagement to support positive organizational change.

The survey instrument that will be deployed at Memorial has been developed by TalentMap.
The survey instrument:
- is based on years of research, experience, and scientific measurement.
- is a comprehensive, efficient tool designed to measure engagement and workplace culture.
- has been thoroughly tested for reliability and validity.
- development process follows the American Psychological Association test and instrument guidelines.
The survey will take approximately 20 – 25 minutes to complete.
The survey will be accessible online 24 hours a day from November 24 to December 12, 2025 (it will close at 11:59 p.m. on this date).
We hope to get as many responses as possible in the first few days. You will receive reminder emails throughout the survey period and be notified when the survey is closing.
The survey is completely voluntary.
Faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to participate. The survey is part of Memorial’s ongoing commitment to fostering a workplace where employees feel supported, heard and empowered. Your feedback will help guide improvements across the university.
Memorial will provide TalentMap with university e-mail addresses and the following information that is linked to university email addresses

- Employee Category: staff/faculty
- Employee Group: Non-Bargaining/Management and Professional/Leadership Group/CUPE/NAPE/MUNFA/LUMUN/TAUMUN.

The survey invitation will be sent to permanent and contractual full-time and part-time employees who are in classified positions and have been at Memorial since the beginning of the fall semester.
On November 24, 2025, Memorial employees will receive an e-mail from TalentMap. The e-mail will contain a unique web link to access the survey. The survey can be completed via iPhone and any Android device.
Employees who do not work in an office environment and would like to complete the survey will be provided time during work hours to go to a computer lab to complete the survey. If you require assistance, please contact your supervisor and they will make the necessary arrangements for you.
No, you do not have to complete the survey at one time. If you begin to respond and then find that your attention is needed elsewhere, you can exit by clicking “Next” to save your responses and then close your browser. To return to where you left off, click on the survey link sent to you when the survey was deployed and continue completing the survey.
The survey is accessible for individuals who use screen readers.
After you complete the survey and click the “submit” button, you will not be able to re-use your link or change your responses.
Once collected, TalentMap’s system allows only aggregate findings of the data.
By default, no reporting may be done on any department/faculty/school/unit containing fewer than five responses.
Data collected for TalentMap’s surveys is transferred using the HTTPS protocol with TLS 1.3 security. This means that all data that is sent or received is encrypted and highly secure.
All survey results are stored in secure servers in the cloud. Access to the servers is strictly controlled by a firewall and the data is encrypted.
Only TalentMap’s administrators and the web servers that process the data are able to connect to these data servers.
The survey is confidential. To ensure confidentiality, TalentMap will not divulge individual survey responses to anyone at Memorial University; only aggregate reports will be provided.
TalentMap will also not report on any groups with less than five responses.
TalentMap will analyze, interpret, and report on the results. TalentMap has assigned Memorial’s survey analysis to an Industrial Organizational Psychologist. This individual will be assisted by senior reporting analysts and subject matter experts who have years of experience in interpreting data and providing actionable reports that will inform planning.
Yes! We will be sharing the overall findings wiith employees.
Department specific reports will be shared only with those departments/units that have a minimum of five respondents.
