Personal Profile

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in thermo-fluids and energy systems, from Persian Gulf University, Iran, 2004. I began my graduate journey following this by joining the Energy Conversion program at Yazy University, Iran, in 2004. During my graduate studies, I explored fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics research, explicitly examining the behavior of flow passing single and tandem square cylinders in laminar and turbulent flow regimes. I successfully obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2007.

Subsequently, I dedicated 11 years to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Azad University, Iran, where I served as an instructor. In 2018, I seized the opportunity to further advance my expertise by enrolling in the Ph.D. program in Mechanical Engineering Department at Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN). My doctoral research focused on explaining the hydrodynamics and heat transfer phenomena in gas-liquid and liquid-liquid two-phase flow within micro- and milli-scaled channels, numerically and experimentally. This academic journey concluded with the completion of my Ph.D. in 2022.

Post-Ph.D., my professional journey led me to a position as a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Microfluidics Lab at MUN. During this tenure, my research encompassed an in-depth exploration of heat transfer patterns in Taylor flow. Additionally, I undertook the task of modeling and prototyping a liquid-based cooling system for gaming computers, employing both experimental and numerical methods to analyze two-phase flow. I extended my research focus to investigate heat transfer enhancement in double-pipe heat exchangers, employing a novel design of vortex generators and incorporating nanoparticles.

In September 2023, I assumed the role of Teaching Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at MUN. My primary focus is teaching thermo-fluids courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Simultaneously, I am supervising multiple projects dealing with energy systems, two-phase flows, and CO2 capturing.

I am an Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) with Professional Engineers & Geoscientists Newfoundland & Labrador (PEGNL), hold memberships in the Canadian Society of Mechanical Engineers (CSME) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). I am also serving as a reviewer for Nature: Scientific Reports; Wiley: International Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics; Institute of Physics (IOP); Canadian Science Publishing (CSP): Transaction of Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering; MDPI: Processes, Energies, Mathematics, Water, Aerospace, Materials.
