Ceremony of Induction into the Teaching Profession: Spring 2026

The Ceremony of Induction into the Teaching Profession is held twice annually by the MUN Faculty of Education and the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers' Association (NLTA).

This formal event celebrates Bachelor of Education graduates for completing their professional studies and initial teacher preparation programs at Memorial University. During the event, inductees take the Teacher’s Oath of Affirmation of Professional Responsibility and are officially recognized as teachers.

Spring 2026 Ceremony

The Spring 2026 ceremony took place on Friday, May 29th from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Bruneau Centre for Research.

The spring ceremony involved graduates from the following programs:

  • Bachelor of Education (Primary/Elementary) as a First Degree
  • Bachelor of Education (Primary/Elementary) as a Second Degree
  • Bachelor of Education (Primary/Elementary) as a Second Degree with French as a Second Language (FSL)
  • Bachelor of Music Education as a Second Degree

In total, the Faculty of Education produced 105 newly qualified K-12 teachers in Spring 2026.
