2025-2026 Call for Nominations

Nominations are currently being accepted for the 2025-2026 Dean’s Awards. The nomination deadline is September 13, 2026. Completed nomination packages are to be submitted to the Associate Dean's Office via email to educreception@mun.ca.

Support for First Time Nominators

Nominators who are students, external to the faculty, or nominating someone for the first time are encouraged to work with a supporter within the Faculty of Education when preparing their nomination package. Prospective nominators may contact educreception@mun.ca for assistance with identifying an appropriate supporter. Nominators who work with a supporter are required to have them complete and sign the supporter section of the Nomination Form.

About the Dean's Awards

The Faculty of Education Dean’s Awards celebrate faculty, staff, partners, and community members that are making outstanding contributions to the field of education.

Award Categories

There are four types of awards - faculty awards, staff awards, community awards, and mentorship awards:

• Faculty Awards
  • Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching
  • Dean’s Award for Excellence in Research
  • Dean’s Award for Excellence in Engagement and Service
  • Dean’s Award for Excellence (Non-Tenure Track Faculty)
• Staff Awards
  • Dean’s Staff Award for Service Excellence
• Community Awards
  • Dean’s Award for Excellence in Community Education
• Mentorship Awards
  • Dean’s Award for Outstanding Mentorship (Practicum Mentors) 

Dean's Awards Committee

Nominations will be adjudicated by the Dean's Awards Committee. The committee is govered by the Terms of Reference.

Award Recipients

Nominators and recipients of the Dean's Awards will be notified of the committee’s decision within two months of the nomination deadline. Recipients will be publicly announced in the Fall and invited to the Faculty of Education Awards Night, where they will be presented with a framed certificate.
