2026-2027 Competition – Internal Deadline and Application Procedures

Deadline for submission to Engineering Research Office (ERO):

12:00 p.m. (Noon), February 14, 2026, for Summer (May-August) 2026 awards
12:00 p.m. (Noon), June 20, 2026, for Fall (September-December) 2026 awards
12:00 p.m. (Noon), October 25, 2026, for Winter (January-April) 2027 awards

Applications must be completed using the web-based NSERC Application. An electronic copy of the complete application package must also be sent to the ERO via email (gaa538@mun.ca) by the submission deadline.

Undergraduate Students, who meet the eligibility requirements and are interested in carrying out a 16-week (35 hours per week) research/development work term in Natural Sciences and Engineering, under the supervision of a faculty member, are invited to submit an application to the 2026-2027 NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Awards Program. Students may also apply directly to competitions at other Canadian Universities.
