Coast Lines Book Club with Anne Budgell

Journalist, author and alumna Anne Budgell (BA'95)'s Dear Everybody: A woman's journey from Park Avenue to a Labrador Trapline is the current Coast Lines book club selection!

In 1944, Manhattan socialite Barbara Mundy travelled to tiny North West River, Labrador, to volunteer with the Grenfell Mission. She didn't expect to feel so at home in the wilds of Labrador, more than she ever had in New York high society. She discovered a love for hunting, canoeing and camping - and for fur trapper Russell Groves.

Anne Budgell worked with CBC radio and television in Newfoundland and Labrador for over thirty years. Her interest in Labrador history was encouraged by her mother, the daughter of a fur trapper; and her father, the son of a Hudson’s Bay Company factor.

On July 6, join Anne, Coast Lines host and current PhD candidate Angela Antle (BA '91) and special guest Dr. Ashlee Cunsolo, founding dean of the School of Arctic and Subarctic Studies at the Labrador Campus, as they discuss the social history of Labrador and the art of non-fiction writing.

Please note that Coast Lines will take place from  7–8 p.m. in Labrador.
