Services for Sponsored Students

Advising and assisting students applying to Memorial University

We will provide support and guidance around the admissions process, including support for graduate students in finding a potential supervisor.

Individual Student Advising

We provide one-to-one assistance around any academic, personal, or practical concerns students may have. We ensure guidance and support through the application and admission process, during arrivals, and for the duration of the student’s studies. Advising includes providing information on academic programs, admission requirements, application procedures, and supports throughout the program.

Professional skills development and academic support

Memorial University’s School of Graduate Studies (SGS) offers opportunities for students to develop their professional and academic skills. Academic programming and supports offered through Memorial’s Enhanced Development of Graduate Experience (EDGE) allows graduate students to build knowledge and develop diverse skills and competencies to become the very best scholars, practitioners, and/or leaders in their chosen fields.

Provide regular academic updates to sponsors

We work with students and sponsors to help them progress and address any issues. We support students in gathering documentation required by sponsors.

Keeping you connected

We maintain regular contact with both sponsored students, and sponsors ensuring all questions are answered in a timely manner. We can act as a central liaison between students, sponsors and university departments to ensure successful program completion.

Transition from ESL programs to degree programs

For students who need ESL, we can advise on available programs.

Support with arrival and settlement

Immigration

We can provide information around immigration and the visa application process.
