Ready to Run
Memorial’s Tely 10 team will be tying up their shoelaces on Sunday, July 27 as they prepare to participate in the 87th offering of the annual road race. The team, with over 140 members, includes employees, retirees, spouses and children. This is Memorial’s largest contingent ever to participate in the event and includes 50 participants from Marine Institute who are celebrating MI’s 50th anniversary as well as two participants from the Grenfell Campus.

“For the last nine years we have had a Memorial group registered in the Tely 10,” said Laura Chapman, wellness consultant with Human Resources. She went on to say, “Our team has a number of people who have participated every year and we are happy to welcome 17 new members this year. For our team, the most important thing is participation. While some members of our group plan to run the course, other people plan to walk it and others anticipate a combination of running and walking.”

On race day Team Memorial participants will be easily identifiable as they will be wearing blue shirts recognizing MI’s 50th anniversary on the front and sporting the Memorial logo on the back.

Come out and support our runners along the course. The race starts at 8 a.m. in Paradise near Octagon Pond with runners heading eastward on Topsail Road, Cornwall Avenue, LeMarchant Road, Harvey Road and finally Military Road with the finish line on Bannerman Road near the park. This year a record of 4,181 participants are registered for the race.
