New HR website!

Memorial’s Department of Human Resources has launched a new website in the university’s modern responsive design.

Stephen Dodge, director of human resources, said, “The redesigned site provides users with an improved reading and navigation experience and is accessible via mobile devices. In addition to the design, the site has a number of new features including an extensive listing of frequently asked questions and a new url.”

HR’s url is now www.mun.ca/hr (previously it was www.mun.ca/humanres). The shorter url is more concise and easier to remember and use. While the site’s most frequently accessed pages will automatically redirect to the new web address, HR is asking users to update the web address in their bookmarks or favourites.

Information within the new HR website can be found within five main tabs: About Us, MyHR, Administrators, Retirees and Careers. The MyHR tab is new and is focused on providing information employees need. Whether it is information on pension and benefits or payroll and taxes, this is the place employees can go to get the answers and information they require on employment matters.

Similar to the old site, news, feature stories and a listing of upcoming events can be found on the main page.

“The new site will be an important resource for both our department and the clients we serve,” said Valerie Butler, HR associate director. “We felt that with the high usage of our site, as well as our department’s plans to move forward with launching a shared services centre later this year, it was important to ensure improved site content and user experience. We want it to be the first place people go for answers to their employment related questions at Memorial.”

The launch of the site is the most recent change to the department’s online presence.  In February, HR launched its new Learning and Development site and, in March, it moved all HR forms and detailed information about internal job postings to the my.mun.ca portal. As a result, the new HR site only lists the titles of available internal positions sorted by campus. For complete internal position information, accessing the portal is required. Complete information for external job postings is still available on the HR site and is now also sorted by campus.

To access the portal, individuals will need to enter their MUN login ID and password and, once in, choose either the “Employee” or “Retiree” tab (whichever is applicable). If you have forgotten either your login ID or password, please click on the “Having Problems” tab on the my.mun.ca login page for assistance.
