The Department of Human Resources at Memorial is responsible for a number of policies, procedures and guidelines relating to human resources. The university policy framework is followed for the development and implementation of policies/procedures.
Cannabis in the Workplace
Effective Oct. 17, 2018, the non-medical use of cannabis became legal in Canada.
Memorial has a duty to maintain a safe workplace and employees are required to show up fit to work. This has not changed with the legalization of cannabis. For information on cannabis in the workplace at Memorial, please click here.
