Adult Learning & Post-Secondary
Memorial University’s adult education and post-secondary diploma and degree programs are carefully designed to be accessible to a diverse community of learners.
Our program structure, design and delivery aim to create conditions for success, regardless of your prior learning. We offer three programs that are:
- Affordable – we have one of the lowest tuitions in Canada
- Flexible – can be completed online, full or part-time
Applications are accepted twice a year: May 15 for Fall Semester and September 15 for Winter Semester.
Diploma in adult learning and post-secondary education
Designed for learners looking to enhance their current or previous work experience, this part-time diploma program will help build new skills and knowledge in administering and teaching programs for adult learners. The program requires students to complete 30 credit hours or 10 Education courses – six required and four electives.
Bachelor of education (post-secondary) as a first degree
This program will prepare students for instructional and leadership roles in formal and informal post-secondary education, including careers in academic, adult, community, technical and trades, and professional education. It is a 120 credit-hour program that can be completed full or part-time.
Bachelor of education (post-secondary) as a second degree
This 36-credit hour program is intended for students who have completed a bachelor’s degree. Eligible applicants must hold an undergraduate degree from Memorial or from an institution recognized by the University with at least second class standing or equivalent OR successfully completed Education 2700, 2720 and 2801 with an average of at least 65 percent.
