Free family event brings awareness to health-related issues

Want to learn how you can improve your health and be an active participant in managing health outcomes?
Join members of the research community and partner organizations for a free all-ages event on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The first-ever Health for All Festival is being held at Lester’s Farm Chalet, 90-92 Pearltown Road in St. John’s.
You’ll learn about exciting research focused on improving health and health outcomes while hearing from a number of groups on topics ranging from diabetes to colorectal cancer to vascular health and much more. There’ll be demonstrations, live music, crafts and games for children and hands-on activities.
When: Nov. 4, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Lester’s Farm Chalet, 90-92 Pearltown Road, St. John’s
What: Inside the chalet, various researchers, provincial organizations and community groups will set up hands-on activities to teach you how patient, doctors and researchers can work together to improve health outcomes in this province.
Who: Bring the whole family.
The event is organized by the Newfoundland and Labrador SUpport for People and Patient-Oriented Research and Trials Unit (NL SUPPORT), a unit within Memorial’s Faculty of Medicine.
